Photography Show Ribbons

Below are our Photography Ribbons from previous years! Styles vary for each event and year.
We can't wait to show you our new Winter ribbons!
Divisions:
Open classes-
Open to all ages and abilities.
Junior Class- Anyone 18 years or under may enter this Division.

Classes:
  1. Winter Wonderland- Get outside with your pet and take some lovely scenes in the Wintery Landscape! Open to any animal type.
  2. Do you want to build a snowman?- Create a snowman or two adding treats for their face or buttons and see how your animals will react! Open to any animal type.
  3. Through the Ears- A photo you took while riding your horse, as seen through the horses' ears. Equines only.
  4. Most Artistic- Get Creative! Think about composition, rule of thirds, filters, etc. Open to any animal type.
  5. Holiday Photoshoot- Show off your Holiday Spirit by dressing up your pet in costume or other creative way! Winter Holidays themes such as: Christmas, Hanukah, New Years, Valentine's Day, etc. or in winter wear like hats and scarfs. Open to any animal type.
  6. Let it Snow!- Take Creative Snow Falling Photos to Make Playful Images with your animals! This idea is perfect for having fun and improving your action photography skills at the same time. Try to take sharp photos of falling snow while keeping your pet in focus. Tip: to make this process easier, take photos using burst mode. Burst mode is a feature that allows photographers to take multiple photos while holding the shutter. You can also play with shutter speed to blur the falling snow a little bit. You may also consider taking close up or macro photos of snowflakes on your animals! Open to any animal type.
  7. Farm Friends- Donkeys, Pigs, Goats, Chickens, etc.- we needed another category for all our other cute friends!
  8. Winter Landscape- Get outside and take photos of the snow covered or frozen land, ice, and close ups of snowflakes. No animals needed for this category.
What do Judges look for?
Here are some aspects we take into consideration while judging- Technical skills such as: composition, clarity of the photo and subject, color, lighting, contrast, depth of field, overall aesthetic quality. In addition to technical skills we considered: creative thought process, original ideas, creative risk taking, written and visual story telling, and titles.
