Horsemanship 100/200/300/400
Registration Open through Nov 15th 2024!
About Horsemanship Challenges
The Horsemanship 100 was created as a way to celebrate a wonderful year spent with our horses! This year we have ridden, driven, and worked our horses with purpose. We set and accomplished many goals despite additional challenges and uncertainties we faced in our world. We discovered more about ourselves and our horses through meaningful time spent together. We created new friends, cheered each other on, and showed care and empathy when others struggled. That is what Horsemanship is all about!!!
The goal for the Horsemanship 100 is to complete a total of 100 rides, drives, or groundwork sessions with your horse. Many participants have completed one or more challenges this year including: the Winter Warm-Up Challenge, the Spring Forward Challenge, and the Summer Saddle Up Challenge. To finish these challenges participants rode, drove, or did ground work a total of 25 times with their horse. The Horsemanship 100 is a cumulative challenge meaning you may include 25 rides/drives/groundwork sessions per challenge that you have completed to count toward your Horsemanship 100! This neck sash is black, white, and bronze in color.
To be eligible for any Horsemanship Challenge you must have participated in at least 2 of our Seasonal Challenges per year:
If you earned your Horsemanship 100 last year (completed 100 rides/drives/groundwork sessions and received your neck sash) you can add those sessions from last year and the 100 from this year to earn your Horsemanship 200, or another 100 sessions adding to your 200 to get to 300! You do not need to complete 200 rides/drives/groundwork sessions in one calendar year to be eligible for the 200.
The Horsemanship 200's neck sash is blue, white, and silver in color. You must have completed your 200 from the previous year to be eligible for the 300.
The Horsemanship 300's neck sash is light violet, violet, and gold in color. You must have completed your 300 from the previous year to be eligible for the 400.
The Horsemanship 400's neck sash has a new design and is navy, turquoise, and neon green in color.
This challenge is meant to help motivate you, stay focused, and stay accountable as you work towards your own equestrian goals and dreams! You will be able to stay accountable by recording the activities and time you spend with your horse and by joining our awesome social media community sites to share your progress! We will share ideas to try for both you and your horse and have some fun things planned as we stay motivated throughout this challenge! Ride, drive, or do groundwork such as tricks, showmanship, liberty work, and long lining with your horse at least 25 times from September 4th through December 31st with the goal of completing 100 rides, drives, or groundwork sessions for the 2024 calendar year. To be eligible for each Horsemanship Challenge you must have participated in at least 2 of our Seasonal Challenges per year: Winter Warm-Up, Spring Forward, Saddle Up, and/or Autumn Gallop. Entrants will receive a beautiful rosette neck sash upon completion! Cost to participate in 2023 - $45.00.
